Dose 204 legal for deer hunting in State of California?

I only like very low recoil during shooting so 270 dose kick pretty good for me. Please tell me more about the 204 if any one who has one. Thank you

i have a 204 and would not recommend it to use on deer its a good varmint rifle but definitely not a deer rifle. I hunt with a 25-06 with 100 grain projectiles. this combination dosen't kick much and will be able to fufil your need for a deer rifle.Dose 204 legal for deer hunting in State of California?
See your other question. Get a 30-30. Regular loads have less kick and you can even buy managed loads.

You CAN NOT USE A 204 Ruger or 22cal. like a , 223, 220 Swift or 22-250 to take deer in any state. A 243 is about as small as you can go without ending up in jail.
I do not believe any state allows the 204 to be used for deer.

Some states allow the 223 but in all honesty that too small.

Go to a 243 or a 25-06 neither of those kick much at all.

The 204 is way too small for a ethical 1 shot humane kill.

I don't know if the .204 is legal for deer in California, but it is WAY too small for deer. Deer have fairly heavy bones and muscle tissue and even though you can kill them with a .204, the tiny, slender bullet may be deflected causing the deer to die a slow, lingering death and the hunter to have to go without venison. No one wins. Get at least a .243 Winchester or better yet, a .25-06 Remington.

Best.

204 is way to small for deer, 270 is the smallest you should consider if you want a humane kill.
