Make sure it is legal to take game with the BB gun. Squirrels and grouse seem to be okay, but the quail are shotgun only.





Many people are assuming that you are talking about a toy type BB gun rather than a more modern air rifle. If you are talking about a red rider, you will struggle to hit any of those animals, and if you hit them you are more likely to injure them than kill. However, if you are talking about a higher quality air rifle that is moving the projectile at over 600 FPS, there is enough power to kill small game in the rifle.





So, make sure your rifle is up to the task and then shoot squirrels, and grouse if you can get to them.

and for squirrel, I've never had a problem shooting them with my pellet gun thats shooting 1200FPS. I've already shot 1 shot and killed 2 squirrels, I've already went as far as shooting a woodchuck with that same gun and it was a 1 shot 1 immeadate kill.... But your prob. gona need orange for that also and also a licence
Anytime you hunt grouse or quail in the state you need a hunting license. Grouse can be hunted with a rifle, quail must use shotgun. Squirrels are considered small game in some states, for Washington, check the game regulations on line. A BB gun is not powerful enough to kill any of those mentioned.
Yes and only in hunting season.* A BB gun is not the type of gun to be using for what you want to harvest.* Use a 22 long Rifle using hollow point bullets.* It is against the game %26amp; Hunting laws to use a BB gun to attempt to harvest game with it.* You could also use a 28 or 20 gauge shotgun also to harvest what you want to hunt.*
Not saying it was ethical, but when I was a kid I used to kill squirrels with a BB gun in the state of Washington, so I'm pretty sure it's possible. I wasn't using a red rider though, I had something that was pretty powerful.

Squirrels may be a different monster depending on your state.





I believe all states will require one for hunting squirrels unless they are causing depredation.
Only legally haha but remember some animals that are in the varmit class dont require a license such as racoon. Though i seriously advocate a hnter saftey course. And only try that on private land.
