I agree this sport should be outlawed. It is horrible cruel and unnecessary. Sarah Palin is an idiot for suppporting this.

What do you feel about Ariel Hunting of wolves?
Aerial hunting of wolves is both cruel and unnecessary.
In Alaska, it is NOT done to conserve game populations for natives, but rather to artificially boost moose and caribou populations for sport hunters, especially out-of-state hunters who pay premium license fees.
Most competent biologists strongly oppose the practice. Nearly 200 of them signed a letter to Palin urging her to abandon Alaska's wolf genocide- she ignored them.
its very expensive, so not very many wolves are removed in order to save other animals. Wolves kill 10,000's of elk, moose and caribou and do not eat them. In one area they sterilized the alpha males and females.
Over a 8 year period, the caribou population almost doubled. The problem with this method, sterilization, the pack dies because they have little if any off spring. The best solution is to harvest wolves.
As for your snipe at Sarah, it just shows that you are a sheep following others and not digging into real issues instead of fake issues like wolves. Look at what the person is made of. Obama for example says different things to different audience, he has never voted as a senator, he has never taken a stand, right or wrong. Sarah will make a stand whether you like it or not, but then again, do you agree 100% with your parents or friends or spouse? Nope, but you respect them when they take a stand.
There must be balance in nature - elk, caribou, wolves, humans.....
Using planes to kill wolves is something for slob-hunters and the extremely lazy, incompetents out there. What's next? A webcam attached to a machinegun on a tree?
Only exception to shooting from air is if the State DNR needed to quickly, cheaply, reduce population.
Wolves are not a problem in most states including Alaska - in spite of what conservatives say. Conservatives never listen to the wildlife experts anyway.
And NO - wolves do not wantonly kill. They do eat the kill, but not always all at once. And always there is pressure from bears, birds, foxes etc take over and finish it before wolves get back to it.
It is very eveil. And of course Palin supports it. She's a Republican. ;)
